Arthur Balogh was born in 1980 and began studying piano and later on the double bass at the “Ion Vidu” Music High School in Timisoara, Romania. Simultaneously with his university studies in Bucharest, with prof. Ioan Cheptea and Stefan Thomasz, Arthur Balogh became an Assistant Professor in the jazz class of Prof. Univ. Dr. Mircea Tiberian and employee of the Romanian National Radio Orchestra.

During the seven years spent in Bucharest (2000-2007), the artist is distinguished by his ability to use all double bass playing techniques, successfully combining traditional elements of classical, modern, and experimental music with those of jazz.

Starting with 2007, Arthur decides to leave Bucharest and continue his studies at the University of Music in Nürnberg, in the class of Prof. Dorin Marc. After obtaining his master’s degree in 2009, Arthur Balogh wins the position of the double bassist of the Württembergische Kammerorchester Heilbronn.

Since 2015, Arthur Balogh is the bassist of the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra and is invited to collaborate with various orchestras and ensembles such as Stuttgart Opera, Ludwigsburg Festival Orchestra, Ulm Philharmonic, Camerata Europeana.
