Principal Cello Romanian Radio Chamber Orchestra

Born in 1984 in Arad, Romania, Radu Sinaci started to study the cello at Arad Music High School, with Anika Gașpar, and later with Erwin Czuczu. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree and his PhD from the National University of Music in Bucharest, under Professor’s Marin Cazacu guidance.

Radu Sinaci is continuously trying to enrich the cello playing with new sonorities. In this process, he uses sound processors and loopers, widely known by guitarists, but seldom used by cellists. Besides his classical music activities, Radu is a passionate promoter of the jazz played on a cello. He won numerous prizes at National and International Cello Competitions, yet the Virtuosity Award won at the Sibiu International Jazz Competition was an unprecedented event in Romania, being the first cellist who received this award.

Currently, Radu Sinaci is the principal cellist of the Romanian Radio Chamber Orchestra, member of the Violoncelissimo and Playthoven ensemble.
